For Toronto Life’s special edition coverage of the Elevate tech conference, I created a fully illustrated map of King Street West—one of Toronto’s busiest cultural corridors. The goal was to translate a dense lineup of events, venues, and pop-ups into a visual guide that felt lively, intuitive, and unmistakably urban.

The final map combines custom icons, playful spot illustrations, and a simplified street grid to help readers navigate everything from late-night block parties to culinary pop-ups and tech activations. Each icon was crafted to echo the personality of its event—cocktails, microphones, sneakers, VR headsets, and more—bringing a burst of color and character to the layout.

Used across both the printed guide and digital platforms, the illustration became a central navigational tool for the festival, capturing the buzz and cultural energy of King West during Elevate.
