Vintage Toronto Meets Fresh Craft Cider
Brickworks Ciderhouse brought me on to collaborate with their designer, Amy Patterson, to develop a series of illustrations for their core line of craft ciders. Each can features a piece of Toronto’s heritage – an old-time fire truck, the retro Queen Street 501 streetcar, and a classic Toronto Island ferry – rendered in a warm, nostalgic style that complements the brand’s identity and storytelling.
Working closely with the Brickworks team, I created illustrations that feel both historically rooted and visually fresh, grounding each cider in a sense of place. The artwork extended into special-edition six-pack and multi-pack boxes, which incorporated a colourful illustrated map of Toronto. The map wove the city’s neighbourhoods and landmarks into the packaging system, creating a vibrant backdrop that tied all the cans together as part of one unified, Toronto-forward collection.
The result is a suite of packaging that celebrates local heritage through crafted, vintage-inspired illustration which brings the spirit of the city directly to the shelf.
